If you happen to be one of those people who religiously reads the New York Times wedding section, you may have stumbled upon this heartwarming story about a doctor and her punk-rocker fiance tying the knot. You may have also noticed the bride’s gorgeous wedding dress that was designed by Giovanna Randall, head designer and CEO of Honor NYC, a Pixafy client.
Since its inception in 2010, Honor NYC has received critical praise for its intricate detailing and showstopping red carpet looks, and has earned such celeb fans as Oprah, Taylor Swift, and Kirsten Dunst.
Pixafy helped Honor update their original website, converting its existing design with an easy-to-update WordPress installation. We also constructed a brand-new online store for their site, using the Magento Community platform.
“The store was one of our early implementations of responsive technology,” says Josh O’Connell, Pixafy’s Director of Operations who assisted in the rebuild. “The website also has special order capabilities for certain garments, and pre-order capabilities when necessary.”
By utilizing Amazon EC2, jQuery, and PHP, the visually appealing website (designed by RoandCo) provides customers with an up-close look at Honor’s various designs and pieces in a sleek, easy-to-use platform.
“The goal of the build was to add eCommerce capabilities while making it easier to add and update collections,” says O’Connell. “We also incorporated some basic template integration into Campaign Monitor, which Honor continues to use.”
Honor NYC continues to make a name for themselves on the runway, and with their site optimized for maximum customer satisfaction, that sky is the limit!
