With its debut in May of 1998, the iMac G3 was the first consumer-facing Apple product launch after the return of CEO Steve Jobs. By abandoning the disc drive and becoming the first Apple hardware line to come in a variety of colors, the iMac G3 helped pull the company out of the financial red.
