Updates from the 2014 Magento Imagine Conference

Posted by Pixafy Team

The 2014 Magento Imagine Conference is under way! The first day and half have been a flurry of activity, with keynote speeches, breakout sessions, and a lively marketplace bustling with techies. Here’s a quick recap on what’s been going in Las Vegas (besides the gambling and shmoozing).

Magento releases latest versions of Community and Enterprise Edition
At this morning’s opening keynote session, eBay Enterprise’s head of product and strategy Mark Lavelle announced the release of Magento Enterprise Edition 1.14 as well as Magento Community Edition 1.9. “The latest Magento platform updates are a direct reflection of our commitment to help brands and retailers quickly and cost-effectively deliver a better shopping experience,” he said.

Responsive, Responsive, Responsive!
Besides the fact that both new Magento editions include a new Responsive Reference Design Theme, many of the conference’s breakout sessions and seminars have been centered around responsive web design, including Magento’s BarCamp Designer networking event, which focused heavily on the topic.

Stay tuned for more updates as we wrap up day 2 of the conference and head into our final day!
