Jewelry.com is one of the largest, most successful jewelry brands online, but it got its beginning with a custom Java application that supported basic ecommerce functionality. The retailer wanted to ramp up its capabilities and we helped them move off of that custom system onto the Magento platform, making it easier for the site to handle more traffic and support the thousands of products in the store's catalog. Throughout this transition to a new site, Jewelry.com wanted to establish social media integration and alternative checkout capabilities, and we implemented new payment tools and backend integration to deliver what the merchant needed.

To help Jewelry.com achieve its goals, we worked directly with Amazon to establish the Amazon Payments Magento module, making Jewelry.com one of the first sites to enable users to login and make payments using their Amazon accounts. We also established integration with ChannelAdvisor, allowing orders made through Amazon, Rakuten or Sears to be visible within Magento. From there, these payment details are automatically updated within the Jewelry.com ERP system as if they were made through the Magento site, making it much easier to manage and process orders.

All of these improvements heightened the user experience by giving shoppers a more convenient checkout process, but we also helped improve the actual shopping experience. With so many products in place, Jewelry.com shoppers have plenty of information to work through as they make their purchasing choices. We established a custom filtering solution that allows users to filter products into multiple categories simultaneously, and we integrated the site with Extendware FPC, Akamai and Google Pagespeed to ensure an optimal user experience for customers.
