Topps is among the global leaders in trading card and memorabilia sales, and we worked with the organization to launch a secondary site for a customer engagement strategy while improving and maintaining the primary Topps.com experience. This process began shortly after Topps had launched a new site that ran into a few performance issues. We were able to help the brand maintain the site more effectively by first resolving key backend issues and, from there, handling small performance problems and ensuring continual site improvement. Over time, our work with Topps branched into two directions.

The first side of the relationship came to maintaining and improving the experience for the core Topps site. We helped Topps through a complete Rackspace migration to improve site performance and stability, allowing it to ensure a positive customer experience. From there, we continued to provide ongoing maintenance to enhance site functionality and reporting capabilities, with key projects including supporting an Oracle module that handled tax calculations for the site and ensuring stability and data integration within the organization's Quite Logistics inventory module.

The second half of our work with Topps took the form of a dedicated redemptions page aimed at engaging customers. The system involved establishing redemption codes customers could use to eventually submit for a prize. The redemption page tracked user purchases and, when they completed a transaction for memorabilia, gave them access to a unique code. We built this site for Topps, giving it the tools it needed to put this customer-focused strategy into place.

Businesses have a unique opportunity to engage customers online through special promotions and unique shopping experiences. Our work on the Topps redemption site highlights the opportunities available for ecommerce organizations when they are able to integrate backend data between related sites so they can complement each other within the customer experience.
