Jason Riemer joins Pixafy as our first Account Executive, bringing with him a great sales background! We’re excited to have him on board and asked him our standard interview questions as he was settling in:
Q: Where are you originally from? Do you still have family there? Do you have any siblings? If so, what do they do? Any significant/insignificant others?
I grew up in Armonk, NY. My parents still live in the house that I grew up in. My younger sister is currently in grad school at Teacher’s College at Columbia University.
Q: Are there any mentors/other people who’ve been particularly instrumental in your direction to date?
Both of my parents have had a strong influence on my life and I credit them with shaping me into the person I am today. They have taught me the value of being good to people and that it is beneficial to see that the glass is half-full.
Q: How did you discover Pixafy?
I met Uri last year through a mutual friend. We had a beer together and told me a little about his venture.
Q: What is your first impression of Pixafy?
The amount of work being accomplished is incredible and the people here are nothing if not welcoming.
Q: What do you find is the most exciting part of sales?
Aside from closing a new deal, I enjoy meeting and speaking with new people and I enjoy being able to provide solutions and demonstrate the value of my company’s service.
Q: How about the most frustrating?
The most frustrating part of sales is easily when the line of contact with a new prospect goes cold without any explanation.
Q: What do you enjoy most about New York City?
I love NYC for many reasons, most of all because there is always something to do. I grew up in a small town where a night out was meeting up with your friends in a parking lot and throwing a football around. Living and working in NYC keeps me busy with fun things.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to?
I listen to many different types of music from jazz to hip hop to rock and roll to bluegrass. Right now I am enjoying the stylings of a few young hip-hop artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$ and Chance the Rapper. Radiohead is my favorite band and put on the best concert I have ever seen live at Bonnaroo in 2006.
Q: Any unusual hobbies that we should know about?
I am competitive and love playing games (sports, video games, board games, card games). I play guitar, bass and drums for fun with a few friends once a week. I would scuba dive every day if I had the opportunity.
Q: If you won the proverbial lottery, what would you do with your windfall?
I would trash whatever room I was standing in when I found out that I won, then replace everything I broke with some of my winnings. Then I would buy an apartment.
Q: What is your favorite part about the Internet today?
How easy it is to stay in touch with people. I have friends all over the country who I am in contact with daily through chat or email.
Q: What piece of technology would you say has had the most impact on your life?
Nintendo 64
Q: What do you hope to accomplish at Pixafy?
I hope to expand Pixafy’s presence nationally, build out our partner relationships, manage a successful sales team and close more business than we know what to do with.
Q: What’s something that no one at Pixafy knew about you (until now)?
I once hitch-hiked from Tennessee to New Jersey.
We’d love to hear from you! Leave us a comment or tweet us @Pixafy.
