Pixafy client Melanie Dunea serves up fundraiser for Sandy victims

Posted by Pixafy Team

Melanie Dunea, the creator, author and photographer for the My Last Supper book series and website, was deeply affected by the effects of Superstorm Sandy.  She volunteered her time to document some of the amazing work the Food Bank of New York City does.  But she decided to take things a step further.

Dunea’s developed a deep web of connections thanks to her books and her work as a photographer, and she’s rallied an all-star team for “Shame Our Sandy,” a benefit taking place Saturday, Jan. 12 from 7-9 p.m.  The $150 ticket provides entrance to a variety show featuring performances from a number of New York City’s talent, as well as food and drink from some of New York’s finest chefs and artisans.  It should be a unique and entertaining experience, and best of all, 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, which is assisting families affected by the storm.

Tickets are available via Eventbrite; more details, as well as a list of who will be appearing (which will continue to grow and evolve as the event approaches), can be found at the My Last Supper website.
